  1. I am going to write my own web page but don't know what to name the home page?
    • The standard here at AE Electronics is to use index.html as your home page. The rest of the page can be named anything you want.

  2. I can connect to your server, but I cannot browse the web. Host cannot find.
    • The problem is you have not set up the DNS properly. There are two places in Win 95 that you have to set up your dial up configuration: Dial up networking AND control panel/network/TCP IP Adaptor/DNS. Go to our DNS configuration set up instruction for more details.

  3. I got a 56k (X2) modem, but when I connect, it’s only 33.6…I wonder why...
    • The X2 technology allows downloading speed at 56k. But for uploading (connect to our server), speed varies depending on the surrounding circumstances, e.g. noise level, location, etc. Some people can get connection speed as high as 52k+, but some are lower.

  4. I got a 33.6 USRobotics modem, how can I upgrade it to 56k?
    • You have to contact USRobotics directly. The best way is to visit their web site. Please make sure that your modem is upgradable. AE, moreover, sells 33.6/56k modems in our store.

  5. I only have a Flex 56k modem, but you support 56k USRobotics. Will I get 56k access?
    • Unfortunately, No. You can still have internet access, but the speed will only be 33.6k.

  6. I got Window 95 in my computer, do I need additional software for internet access?
    • No. Window 95 has the dial up networking function installed in the computer already. Most Win 95 also come with Internet Explorer. You will not need additional software for internet access, unless you do not have a browser in your computer (like Internet Explorer or Netscape). For how to configure your computer, please visit our support page Internet setup

  7. I check messages everyday, but sometimes I receive message that is sent two days ago. Why there is a message delay?
    • There might be a lot of reasons why you will have message delay. If the email server on either (both the sender's ISP or the receiver's ISP) side is busy, then it will take longer to deliver a mail. It might also be a problem in setting up your email. By default, your computer will check mail every 10 minutes when you are on line.
    • You can always click "send and received" or 'Get messages" to check for new messages when you are on line.
