1. What are the fees associated with your
server parking services?
$300/month
2. What is the traffic allowance with the basic server-parking plan, and
what would they be if one needed to ramp up from there?
No traffic charge for up to 10GB in/out, $20 per GB after
that
3. What are the usage restrictions? Besides adult or illegal
material, is there any restrictions on the server's function?
No restriction, you have to provide both hardware and
software to do what you want. We just provide the power, space,
high-speed Internet connectivity and telnet remote power on/off
function.
4. How are IP addresses/DNS handled? How many, or within what range
would I have the ability to assign to client sites, on my server?
We supply as many IPs as needed. The first 50 IPs are
free. If more than 50 IPs are needed than there is a programming
fee of $150 for every 50 IPs. We can host all your domain names
for free with our 3 DNS servers.
5. How are onsite visits handled, or restricted? What is the hourly rate
for echnical/administrative services provided by AE? Setup fees?
For our Richmond office our hours are from 9 to 6 mon-fri,
10 to 6 sat. You can visit us any time during business hours. For
after hour support you can page us at 686-9968 and our staff will
contact you as soon as possible.
We use the remote administration program to manage our
server. The cost of the program is $75 for the first 2 PC and $55
for each additional PC. You also use remote software to monitor
and maintain your server. For Vancouver 24/7 there is one free
visit per month additional visit is billed at $75/hr. This high
cost is due to the escort service needed from our supplier’s
security department.
6. Does the service provide emergency power backup and surge protection?
We do provide full UPS protection for your servers in our
Vancouver location. You have to provide the tape backup. There is
no one there to rotate the tape cartridge be sure the tape is
large enough to backup all your date.
7. What are the dimensions of the space that would be provided .. or
what should the server's dimensions be limited to? Is a monitor required, or does one only
need bring monitor and peripherals when visiting the server, on-site?
The space is 7” H x 19” W x 21” D. You don’t need
keyboard, monitor and mouse. They are in the location for us to
use.
8. Are there any compatability issues I would need to be aware of ? (NIC
etc..)
Yes, your
network card must be Ethernet 10 or 100 BaseT with the RJ45
interface.
9. What sort of insurance coverage exists, is necessary, or would you
suggest?
Yes, insurance is $15/month if needed. This only cover
the lost of you equipment and nothing else.
