Dialers: FreePPP

The PPP Menu

Connecting to AEBC is as easy as a single mouse-click. Go to your menu bar and locate the icon of the world and telephone. Choose "Open PPP Connection" as shown above.
NOTE: Sometimes the "Open PPP Connection" option is either grayed out or doesn't work. This is an intermittent bug in the application that can be bypassed by choosing "Open FreePPP Setup" from the same menu and choosing connect from the FreePPP Setup Application.

The PPP Control Strip

If your computer has a control strip, you may use the FreePPP module there in the same fashion.

The FreePPP Folder

The FreePPP Setup application is located in your AEBC Folder. It's inside the FreePPP folder. If the FreePPP menu and control strip do not appear/function on your Macintosh (they are incompatible with some configurations) you will have to launch your connection this way.

The FreePPP Connection Window

The FreePPP Connection Status window appears, displaying the progress of your connection.

Once it displays the "Successful..." message, the window will disappear. You are now online! Go to your AEBC folder and launch whichever Internet application you wish.

The FreePPP Menu

Disconnecting from AEBC is also as easy as a single mouse-click. Go to your menu bar and locate the icon of the world and telephone. Choose "Close PPP Connection" as shown above.

The PPP Control Strip

If your computer has a control strip, you may use the FreePPP module there in the same fashion.
