Windows 3.x Support |
Programs: Eudora
There are several versions of Eudora available for Windows. Regardless of which you're
using, the instructions for configuration are basically the same:
Open Eudora. If the Password dialog box appears, click Cancel.
Choose Settings from the Special menu.
Select the Getting Started icon:
In the "POP Account" field, type
username@pop3.aebc.com
As always, use your own user name where this example says "username".
Your user name must be entered in lower case. Also, be sure to
include the word "mail" after the "@" sign.
This setting tells Eudora where we keep your mail. This is NOT your
email address, it is a location on a server. Please type it exactly as
described.
In the "Real Name" field, type your real name as you wish it to appear in
your email headers. (NOTE: This is optional. You can leave it blank.)
Do not check the "Connection Method: Offline (no connections)" box.
Select the Personal Information icon:
The "POP account" and "Real name" fields are already filled in from the last
step. Don't change them.
In the "Return address" field, type your email address. Your email address
is your user name followed by
"@aebc.com". Don't use @pop3.aebc.com. Your mail will bounce if
you do.
Select the Hosts icon:
The "POP account" and "SMTP" fields are already filled in.
Don't change them.
Leave the "Ph" field blank.
Leave the "Finger" field blank.
Select the Checking Mail icon:
Again, the "POP account" field is already filled in. Don't change it.
Make sure "Leave mail on server" is NOT checked.
For "Authentication Style" select Passwords.
Select the Sending Mail icon:
The "Return address" and "SMTP server" fields are already filled in. Make sure these are
set correctly:
The "Return address" should be your email address. Remember, you email
address is your user name followed by
"@aebc.com".
The "SMTP server" is "smtp.aebc.com".
Click OK.
Exit Eudora.
Next time you open Eudora it will ask for your server password (the one we
gave you in lower case letters), and you will be able to send and receive
mail.
