This page explains the use of IE 5. There are a few changes from the previous version of IE. If you used IE 4.0 in the past then you shouldn't have any trouble using IE 5.0 The following information is available on this page.

1. How to type in a URL

Find the URL in the Address: field.
Highlight the URL with your mouse.
Replace it with the URL of the place you want to go.
Hit Return or click the Go button, and you're on your way.

2. How to move back and forth from page to page

The Back button--

--allows you to go the page you had just visited.

The Forward button--

--lets you move forward again, after you've clicked Back. Let's say you start at page 1. You click on the link to page 2. You realize that you weren't done with page 1, so you click on the Back button. After you're done with page 1, you can click the Forward button to continue reading page 2. Try it--you'll understand.

3. How to add a site to your Favorites list

Go to the site you want to add.
From the Favorites menu, select "Add to Favorites."
That's it--you're done.

4. How to visit a site via your Favorites list

That's simple--from the Favorites list, select the website you want to visit.

5. The joy of the History button

This button is very handy! Let's say you visited this really cool site three days ago, but you can't remember where it was, and you didn't add it to your Favorites list. Simply click on the History button to view a list of all the sites you've visted during the period the browser has recorded.

Keep your password a secret

New in IE 5 is the AutoComplete function. What the AutoComplete function does is saves the password that you entered when filling out a form on a web page. While this can be a good if nobody else has access to your computer it is strongly recommended that you tell it Never to save your password.
